PURCHASING PRINTS THROUGH THE SHOPPING CART
Prints and Gifts can be purchased through the shopping cart. Please note that prints do not have the watermarks shown here on displayed images! Also note that these are regular prints on Kodak paper, unlike my limited edition fine art prints which I print myself on acid free cotton rag paper, sign and number.
In most cases, using the Shopping Cart to make purchases is straightforward. Let's go through a simple example. Assume you want to buy 8"x12" Lustre prints of two photographs:
- Locate and display the first photograph you want, and click on "Buy This Photo"
- Click on "Back to Gallery"
- Locate and display the second photograph you want, and click on "Buy This Photo"
- Click on "On to Cart"
- Make sure the correct photographs are in the cart. If not, click "Delete" and "Continue Browsing"
- In the Product boxes, select "Standard Prints" and "8x12 (Lustre)"
- Set the "Quantity" for each photograph. (Go ahead, buy more for your friends!!!)
- DO NOT change "Color" - it MUST be set as "True" for all of my Photographs.
- Click "Next" and complete your address, credit card and shipping information.
- Click "Next" and continue to confirm your order through the last two steps.
OK - I said "In most cases" above - what can cause difficulties? Most of my photographs are sized 2:3 and thus fit 4x6, 8x12, 10x15 and 12x18 perfectly. But a few have been cropped in other shapes, such as 8.5" by 11" or Panorama. And although I am trying very hard to find and fix them, there may still be some that I messed up and sized incorrectly. If you try to put one of these photos on "Standard" 2:3 shaped paper, you will see a red box on the thumbnail of the photograph in the shopping cart. This box indicates the area of the photograph that will actually be printed.
What can you do about this? SmugMug has provided these
Instructions and if they work for you, great! But they may be a bit daunting, and I hope the following will simplify the
issue. There are three options - and you can use them separately or combine them:
- Try other paper shapes and sizes in Standard Prints, Compact Camera Prints and Other Prints.
- Click on "No Crop" to get the best fit of the photograph to the paper you have selected.
- Select "Crop" and click "Adjust" - then move and/or change the size of the red box.
If you can't decide which of several photographs you like best, or which type of paper would be most appropriate, please note that a small print of any of my photographs is available for only 79 cents, and shipping of up to ten is $1.75. Buy a bunch of small prints and see what they look like - I am sure you will be pleased and will then buy larger prints with confidence.
Please note that high-quality limited edition
Fine Art prints of my work are also available in Vermont Galleries and directly from me.
